The HobbyCon Survival Guide
Be the early bird!
Who likes traffic jam or endless circling around for parking? We don’t and so do you. So be there early and stay till the end! - who knows, you might get freebies for being there early!
Get involved!
There’s going to be competitions, workshops, games and other activities taking place throughout the 2 days convention. So don’t just watch, get involved and have some serious fun! As a plus, you’ll get to build up your social network!
Be awed and inspired!
You will be meeting a bunch of artists and cosplayers, so don’t forget to bring your fully-charged digital
camera and video camera to capture the moment! Or, if you are thinking of cosplaying or starting your own comic but don't know where to start, this is a great time to get some tips from the veterans!
Stay Cool, Show some respect!
Hey, it’s a hobby convention! So be sure to expect cosplayers walking around strutting their outfit, brandishing their props and role playing their characters (especially the cute ones); but there are a few rules for you to abide! ;)
- Please ask permission nicely before taking any photos of cosplayer(s).
- Please show the cosplayer(s) photos that were taken if they request to see it.
- Please delete/retake any photos at the cosplayers’ request.
- Please respect the cosplayers’ wish if they do not want their photos to be taken.
- Basic courtesy, do not forget to thank them after taking the shots.
- Feel free to exchange contacts with the cosplayer(s) if they wish to know when their photos are processed or published in your personal web album/website.
Cash in hand is highly recommended!
The place is going to be packed with toys, comics, games, merchandises and so much more. Don’t expect yourself to resist the urge to grab that limited edition item, so make sure you’ve got cash in hand! Or you might regret it when it’s gone!
Keep Safe!
No pushing or shoving, and DO take care of your belongings. With too much excitement, it’s easy for itchy hands to snatch your handphone or wallet without you noticing. So keep yourself alert and safe! The HobbyCon committee will not be responsible for your losses.
Be civilized!
Just like our beloved mayor, we all want our city to be clean, and that is how HobbyCon should be as well!
- No littering is allowed within the convention area.
- Any offenses will be taken seriously. The HobbyCon Committee has every right to expel you from the HobbyCon premises.
- The HobbyCon Committee has the right to confiscate any prohibited items that you may possess.
Please report any breach of rules or misconduct to any of our HobbyCon committee members.
Share the love!
